I’ve been enjoying following the French Open this year. The men’s final matchup is exciting: Rafael Nadal versus Robin Soderling. Soderling memorably – and rather shockingly – beat Nadal in last year’s tournament in the 4th round (Soderling rolled on to the final, where he lost to the Fed), and I’m sure they’re both excited for a rematch. Soderling took out the Fed for his first time ever on the way to the final at Roland Garros this year (ending Fed’s Grand Slam semifinals streak at an amazing 23 consecutive matches), so he is really playing great! For the women, I was rooting for Justine Henin to make a great run at her first Roland Garros since her return to tennis, but Samantha Stosur has just been on fire this tournament! She beat Henin in the 4th round, Serena Williams in the quarters, and Jelena Jankovic in the semis. She’ll be facing fellow first-time Grand Slam finalist Francesca Schiavone for the championship.
